Miley Cyrus's Gen Z Boyfriend Shows Her the "Coolest" Trends

Cyrus says Max Morando "looks at life really differently than I do" because of their age gap.

To Miley Cyrus, age is just a number, as evidenced by her age gap relationship with her current boyfriend, Maxx Morando. The difference in years, however, has led to the couple having their own unique Gen Z and Millennial approaches to life.

In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, Cyrus made a series of rare comments about her relationship with the Liily drummer, noting that because of their ages—she's 32 and he's 26—they sometimes have opposing viewpoints.

“He looks at life really differently than I do,” she said of her boyfriend. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters… Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this? And he’s like, On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.”

But in the key moments, Cyrus explained that she and Morando have more in common most days. “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously,” she said, sweetly adding that because of him, she now has "the coolest kid in Brooklyn’s music” on her phone.

Cyrus's relationship with Morando, who is also a producer, has extended to the studio—he's been working with her on her forthcoming album, producing multiple tracks and penning the song "Something Beautiful" alongside her. It's commonplace that Cyrus's loved ones make it into her creative endeavors. “I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love," she said. "And Maxx just inspires me so much.”

Cyrus and Morando were first romantically linked in December of 2021. While too much isn't known about their relationship—the couple is pretty private—People revealed that the pair moved in together earlier this year. "She is very happy with him," the source told the outlet, adding, “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems more calm and harmonious. Everyone loves Maxx. He’s a great guy. She is very happy with him. He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press. It’s been good for her.”
