Congratulations are in order because Miley Cyrus won her third Grammy last night (with Beyoncé, of all people). But also because she debuted the chicest new haircut that fully stopped us all in our tracks. When she walked on stage to present Record of the Year and show off her stunning Alaïa dress, she showed off some serious length in the back, all of which was pristinely straight and smooth—likely hours after it was first done. What's the sorcery behind it? A $16 hairspray on Amazon, according to Miley's hairstylist Bob Recine.

When Miley first arrived on the red carpet, in an ab-baring Saint Laurent leather gown, the focus was all on her new "jellyfish haircut." Think of it like 2025's mullet: Bob in the front, long in the back. Miley's been giving us voluminous vibes and updos lately, but this long, sleek hairstyle is a bit of a departure. "To show the beautiful length and shape of Miley’s new haircut, I left the rest to grow very long so that a gorgeous mane of hers will run down the back of both backless fashions she's wearing," Recine tells Cosmo.

According to Recine, the key to this lasting straight look was Nexxus XXL Volume Medium Hold Hairspray, which you order on Amazon for less than $16 and get in two days with Prime shipping. Recine worked section by section with the hairspray, spritzing it directly onto a paddle brush as he blow-dried Miley's hair. "I love this application method because it freezes the hair with each brush stroke," he says...but without making your hair feel sticky or stiff. But don't worry if you spritz it all over your hair too—Recine swears the formula isn't crunchy.

Miley's hair has gone through quite a few transformations over the years, but it's looking healthier than ever rn. She doesn't like the feel of heavy products in her hair (same, girl), says Recine, so she loves the Nexxus Epic Shine Anti-Humidity Spray to smooth down frizz and flyaways and the Nexxus Repair & Nourish Ultra Lightweight Hair Oil to add shine without a ton of weight on her fine strands. "They are perfect for bringing back the elasticity and protecting her hair over time too—they've really helped with the amazing growth of her hair over this year," Recine adds. Explains why Miley's hair looks so silky, even through outfit changes and bopping around to every table to chat.

This look was certainly more understated than what we're used to seeing Miley in— never forget that sky-high bouffant from the 2024 Grammys, or her recent spiky updo at the 2025 Golden Globes. But it's coming off the heels of a recent Instagram featuring a slicked-back, butt-length ponytail that very well could be signaling a new hair era for Miley. Considering she walked into the ceremony having already won for her collaboration with Beyoncé on “II Most Wanted" for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, she made an entrance regardless.
