Michael Phelps' son is officially 1!

On Sunday, Jan. 19, the professional swimmer, 39, shared a carousel of photos in a joint Instagram post with his wife Nicole Johnson as they celebrated their son Nico's first birthday. In one snap, Nico can be seen wearing a race car driver outfit and posing next to his birthday cake, which was also race car themed.

The newly minted 1-year-old could also be seen posing with a smaller cake and eating handfuls of the birthday treat. Phelps' three older boys — Boomer, 8, Beckett, 6, Maverick, 5 — could later be seen posing alongside their baby brother and mom, while wearing T-shirts that read "Pit Crew."

"And just like that… we have a 1 year old 🥰 Happy Birthday Nico," the couple wrote in their caption. "You love your brothers and your puppies, cottage cheese, blueberries and being outside. We’re grateful for your first lap of life together 🏎️🤍🖤."

In August, Phelps shared an array of photos on Instagram from the 2024 Paris Olympics, all featuring his youngest son Nico as he explored the French city.

The father-son duo could be seen hanging out in a hotel room, smiling in front of the Eiffel Tower and watching the games from the stands.

"Baby’s first rave 🪩," Michael captioned the carousel, which shows Nico adorably sporting a red beret, large headphones and tiny overalls throughout the trip.

In July 2024, the dad of four opened up about the possibility of having a fifth child in the hopes of it being a girl.

In an interview with E! News, the Olympian was asked whether he and Nicole plan on trying for a girl after having four boys, to which he said he thinks “that's it” when it comes to having more kids.

“Nicole will tell you too,” he said. “I think she said she wanted a girl for me, but we have Onyx.”

Onyx is the family's Great Dane, who they adopted in March.

"Onyx is our girl, so we got everything," Michael said. "We got four boys [and] we got an awesome girl now."
