Michael Keaton Reflects on Working with 'Special' Jenna Ortega for “Beetlejuice” Sequel: 'She's Just Got It'
"Oh man, she's good," the actor said of his 'Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice' costar
Michael Keaton is singing his praise for Jenna Ortega!
While chatting with Entertainment Tonight earlier this week at the premiere of his new film Knox Goes Away, the actor, 72, spoke about returning for the sequel to 1988's Beetlejuice, appropriately titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
When asked what it was like working alongside Ortega, 21 — his new castmate who stars as the daughter of Winona Ryder's character, Lydia Deetz — Keaton couldn't help but gush.
"Oh man, she's good, she's just got it, you know? She's got the tone," Keaton said of the actress. "She showed up and just immediately knew what the tone was and just slipped in like she does every day. She's really special."

Tim Burton is directing the sequel to Beetlejuice, while Brad Pitt’s company, Plan B, is producing.
Along with Keaton and Ryder, 52, one other star who is returning for the follow-up film includes Catherine O'Hara, who played Lydia's mother, Delia.
Willem Dafoe is also a part of the cast and is believed to be playing a law enforcement officer in the afterlife, per The Hollywood Reporter, while Justin Theroux is also set to be in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, though his role has yet to be revealed.
Monica Bellucci, who is rumored to be dating Burton, is also among the new cast members in the sequel. The Mafia Mamma star is set to play Beetlejuice’s wife.

Last month, Keaton opened up to PEOPLE about making the long-awaited follow-up to the comedy about a rude and crude demon who’s enlisted by two ghosts (played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) hoping to scare away the new owners of the home they once inhabited.
“It's the most fun I've had on set in a long time,” said the actor, who filmed the movie last year.
“On one hand, you'd go, ‘Well, of course it's the most fun. It looks like fun.’ As you know, it doesn't always work like that,” he continued.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is set to be released in theaters on Sept. 6, 2024.
