However, as the cancer grows it may cause urinary symptoms such as weak stream, frequent urination, difficulty starting urination and pain or burning. Symptoms in more advanced prostate cancer include dull pain in the lower pelvic area; persistent pain in the lower back, abdomen, hip or pelvis; blood in the urine or semen; and loss of appetite or weight. These symptoms can have other causes, such as benign prostate enlargement or prostatitis.
