Melissa Roxburgh Shares Update on Tracker Encore, Potential Supernatural Reunion With Jensen Ackles (Video)
Though NBC’s The Hunting Party has only aired two episodes thus far, filming for the 10-episode freshman thriller wrapped back in November — meaning that Melissa Roxburgh is ready, willing and able to reprise her role as Tracker‘s Dory, kid sister of Justin Hartley’s titular Colter on the CBS drama.
Roxburgh guest-starred in Tracker‘s 11th episode, which aired last May — one week ahead of Supernatural vet Jensen Ackles’ own debut as Colter and Dory’s brother, Russell. Though Ackles managed to reprise his role early this season (before becoming very, very busy), Roxburgh has yet to put in an encore as Dory.

Tracker EP Elwood Reid, back in July, was bullish on Roxburgh returning, saying, “We’ll unpeel some more stuff with [Colter’]s sister” in Season 2. Speaking with TVLine months later, Tracker lead Hartley was a bit more pragmatic.
“Melissa is busy on her show, The Hunting Party — which, by the way, [is] like right across the street from us” in Vancouver, Hartley told us. “But I feel like she ends [her season] way before we do. So I think if we pick that story back up this year, I think it would be more towards the end of Season 2.”
Tracker resumes its well-watched sophomore run this Sunday, with Episode 9 of 22. Meaning, there’s still time for Dory to resurface, as hoped by Reid and Roxburgh alike.
Asked by TVLine if she’ll get the chance to visit Tracker again, Roxburgh says in the video above, “I hope so. It was such a good set and Justin’s obviously wonderful, so I hope Dory makes a reappearance. There’s a lot of different ways they could go with the character.”
Plus, there are things Roxburgh is curious to know about Colter’s sis. “Dory has some secrets,” she reminds. “She’s not being forthcoming about things, so I want to know what happens there, and I want to know what happened to the Dad… all those answers.”
Roxburgh’s dream scenario is to not just share scenes again with Hartley, but for Ackles to appear in the same episode.
“One of my first jobs ever was with Jensen, on Supernatural,” she says of her January 2012, Season 7 appearance as Lila, a woman from the 1940s whom the god Chronos (Jason Dohring) falls in love with), “so it’d be a nice ‘full circle’ moment.”
