Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are just happy to be here when it comes to Halloween!

Despite being dressed in full medieval garb for an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark Tuesday, Oct. 15, to promote their new scripted podcast Hildy the Barback and the Lake of Fire, the spouses admitted they aren't super attuned to the ins and outs of the spooky holiday.

"We don't quite get it," said McCarthy, 54. "Which, I know, I can do it for a character, but to just be like, 'I'm going to dress up like a doctor!', I don't know how to do."

On the contrary, their kids — daughters Vivian, 17, and Georgette, 14 — get really into it all. As McCarthy said, "They stopped for a while, and now they're fully back on."

"Georgie is going as Mr. Bobinsky from Coraline, with the really skinny legs and the tummy. And then Vivian is going as Flynn Ryder [from Tangled]," she explained. "And Reese, her girlfriend, is going as Rapunzel."

"So now they're super into it," the Bridesmaids actress continued of her daughters. "They go to [Halloween] Horror Nights — the whole thing."

Speaking about neighborhood decorations and goings-on, McCarthy added, "It gets too gruesome at night if you have little kids, but now that ours are teenagers, they're like, 'Bring it!' "

"When an evil force threatens to incinerate the fantastical land of Golgorath, it’s up to Hildy the Barback and her friends to kick some ass on a comedic quest to save the world. Oh, also there are lots of dragons," reads an official logline.

And Falcone and McCarthy are all about donning period garb in celebration of the story, which takes place in medieval times — and making it a family affair, with their daughters joining forces to play "a two-headed oracle."

"There’s artwork [for] how the world [looks] and they have these bald blue heads and [Vivian and Georgette] were like, ‘Oh yeah, let’s do that,' " McCarthy said. "So they came in. They’re really good, but they’re so weird. We were like, ‘This is wonderful.' "

Hildy the Barback and the Lake of Fire premieres Oct. 25.
