Melania Trump touts line of Christmas ornaments on Fox interview
Incoming first lady Melania Trump appears to be in the Christmas spirit as she heads back to the White House.
Appearing on "Fox & Friends" to discuss her and her husband's transition to the White House, Trump touted her line of Christmas ornaments toward the end of the interview, calling them "very patriotic." The 54-year-old previously drew reaction for secret recordings taken in 2018 that included her expressing frustrations with her role in decorating and promoting the White House during the holidays.
"This is the third season that I design, and they are very special," Trump said during the broadcast.
Trump said her ornaments are "very patriotic this year," including her $90 "USA Star" and $75 "Vote Liberty" pieces.
"As you could see, it's all red, white and blue. I was inspired by that," Trump said during the interview. "It's a great gift and a great collectible. They're beautiful."
What did Melania Trump say in 2018 on the secret recordings?
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the author of the book "Melania and Me," secretly recorded conversations with Trump in the summer of 2018 after she exited her role as an adviser, CNN reported in 2020. On the recordings, Trump can be heard talking about her displeasure with decorating and promoting the White House during Christmas time.
"I'm working my a-- off with the Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a f--- about Christmas stuff and decorations but I need to do it, right?" Trump is heard saying.

In addition to being frustrated with Christmas decorating, an angered Trump is heard discussing the media's perception of major issues, such as her husband's administration's child separation policy at the time.
"And then I do it, and I say I'm working on Christmas and planning for Christmas," Trump continued. "And they say, 'What about the children that are separated?' Give me a f---ing break."
Melania Trump's response to recorded comments
In 2020, Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's press secretary, responded to Wolkoff's recordings in a statement.
"Her only intent was to secretly tape the first lady in order to peddle herself and her salacious book," the statement read. "There is no way to know if these recordings have been edited and it’s clear the clips were hand-picked and presented with no context. The first lady remains focused on her family and serving our country."
