Meghan McCain Blasts ‘The View’ As A “Radical Progressive Insane Asylum”

“Respectfully, please stop sending me clips from The View,” McCain posted on Elon Musk’s X, the microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter. “It’s a radical progressive insane asylum and that is why I left years ago.”
This is the second post McCain dedicates to The View in less than a week. Following the 2024 presidential election results, she called out ABC for not having a Republican co-host that voted for Donald Trump.
“It is actual malfeasance on the part of ABC News that there isn’t one single conservative woman on The View this morning who voted for Trump or simply isn’t repulsed by his supporters to explain to America why he is still so popular,” McCain posted on X on November 6.
Alyssa Farah Griffin is the show’s resident conservative voice, who worked for the Trump administration during his first term in office. Ahead of the election, Griffin said she had cast her vote for Kamala Harris but would vote for the Republican Party representatives down the ballot.
McCain herself said she would never vote for Trump due to his comments about her father, the late Senator John McCain.
McCain’s latest swipe at The View came after a heated debate on the show about the election results. The show has been having tough conversations about why Americans elected Trump for a second term.
Sunny Hostin and Sarah Haines, who both backed Harris, debated to try to understand the results.

“I think the more relevant question actually is, ‘What is wrong with America?” Hostin said. “What is wrong with our country that the Republican Party would choose as a candidate and support a candidate who is an insurrectionist, who is an election denier, who is someone who is a twice impeached, 34 time convicted felon, someone who has been accused of alleged sexual misconduct by 26 women, found liable for sexual abuse. What is wrong with this country that they would choose a message of divisiveness, of xenophobia, of racism, of misogyny, over a message of inclusiveness?’”

Haines noted that she felt the Democrat Party spoke to voters in a “condescending” way, adding that Trump voters “didn’t vote for him because he’s a racist or a misogynist. They voted because they needed help in their everyday lives.”
Despite McCain claiming The View is not trying to explain to viewers why Trump won because all the co-hosts voted for Harris, the show has continued to have the tough conversations that many Americans are also having nationwide.
