Meghan Markle's tribute to Prince Charles on royal tour
He walked her down the aisle when her father was forced to pull out of her wedding due to a reported heart attack and now Meghan Markle has paid homage to Prince Charles on her royal tour.
The 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex, who is currently in Fiji on a three-day pitstop on her 16-day royal tour with Prince Harry, has been spotted wearing a piece of jewelery gifted to her by her father-in-law.
According to reports, Prince Charles presented Meghan with a diamond tennis bracelet, which he has sine worn on numerous occasions.
Most recently, the Duchess donned the sparkling piece of bling while visiting President Jioji Konrote and First Lady Faga Sarote in Fiji.
The pregnant royal also previously wore the bracelet at Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace in May.
According to a source close to Prince Charles, the heir to the throne is besotted with his 34-year-old son’s new wife.
“He’s got a real soft spot for her and thinks she’s the best thing to have happened to Harry,” a source told Vanity Fair.
Indeed, just days after their wedding, Charles and Meghan were pictured laughing at a joke while they attended the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace.
Harry also gave a heartwarming speech about his father at the event, making many think the Duke of Sussex must have a special relationship with his dad.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s tour of Fiji comes to an end today, with the royal couple traveling from Nadi Airport to Tonga where will spend one night.
During their time there, the royals will attend a welcome reception and dinner, meet with the Prince Minister or Tonga and meet with local Tongan traders and craftsmen.
