Meghan Markle wears a shorts suit and Chanel ballet flats for the Invictus Games
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back on duty for the Invictus Games, which is currently taking place in Duesseldorf, Germany. Harry – who has already been out there for a few days, hosting the event he founded – has now been joined by Meghan, who dialled up the glamour, wearing a very chic shorts suits and Chanel ballet flats for an appearance.
This morning, the royal was pictured greeting the participants of the wheelchair basketball match. For the occasion, she proved that shorts can be workwear appropriate, wearing a tailored cream style with a matching cardigan and a black vest. She added a pair of classic Chanel Mary-Jane ballet flats to the look.
The duchess clearly has a penchant for the style – and who can blame her? The shoes are one of the most classic and timeless styles ever created. In 2022, for the Invictus Games in The Netherlands, Meghan wore a different pair of Chanel ballet flats, paired with her jeans and a boucle jacket.
Meghan's chic shorts ensemble is not the first outfit that she has been pictured in on this trip. Yesterday, the duchess wore a black shirt dress from affordable label Banana Republic, which she paired with a belt, heeled pumps and earrings from lab-grown diamond brand Kimai, to give a speech, where she apologised for not being able to be at the event sooner.
"It is so special to be here and I’m sorry I’m a little late to the party," she said. "Like so many of you know, this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created, and so I had to spend a little bit more time getting the little ones settled at home. Three milkshakes and a school drop off and I just landed a couple of hours ago and I am thrilled that the first event I can do for Invictus is here with all of you."
The couple are expected to be out in Duesseldorf until Saturday when the Invictus Games wraps up.
