Meghan Markle cheers on Serena Williams at US Open in $1.7k outfit
The Duchess of Sussex is a loyal royal!
As as sign of support to her close friend Serena Williams, Meghan Markle dashed to New York to watch the tennis great compete against Canadian Bianca Andresscu in the women’s final at the US Open.
Without an entourage in tow, the 38-year-old arrived solo taking a seat beside Serena’s mother Oracene Price.
Meghan joined Serena’s husband, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour in the player’s box.
Markle showed off her laid back style, wearing a $220 AUD J. Crew denim belted shirt dress, which is currently on sale for up to 40% off, a $154 AUD grey J.Crew Juliette Collarless Sweater Blazer draped over her shoulders and carried her grey Carolina Herrera “Mariola” shoulder bag.
The royal accessorized the look with her $613 AUD turquoise and gold bar earrings by designer Jennifer Meyer and $699 AUD metal aviators by designer and friend Victoria Beckham.
The trip comes as the duchess prepares to return to work after giving birth to son Archie Harrison earlier this year.
On September 12, Meghan will launch her first collection of clothing to support the charity Smart Works, which helps dress and prepare women as they enter the workforce.
At the end of September, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will leave for a royal tour of South Africa with their son, following which Prince Harry will travel to Angola, Botswana and Malawi alone.
