Meghan Markle refuses Queen's help with her feuding family

Ever since Prince Harry put a ring on Meghan Markle’s finger, her controversial family has been causing a ruckus in Kensington Palace.

Most recently, the now Duchess of Sussex’s dad, Thomas Markle, begged his daughter to call him, after claiming she’s ‘ghosting’ him by not writing back to any of his messages.

And while the Queen has weathered many a media storm during her reign, it’s being claimed that Meghan Markle has refused the monarch’s help to sort the whole debacle out.

According to Vanity Fair, the Queen is ‘very concerned’ that the 37-year-old former Suits actress family drama is ‘spiralling out of control’.

“Buckingham Palace wanted to be able to do something and be proactive and make the situation go away,” an insider told the magazine.

“It was a direction from the Queen, so her courtiers were under strict instructions to sort it out.

“But Kensington Palace was not singing from the same hymn sheet, and that was because the message was coming from Meghan.

“She didn’t want to engage and thought that she could handle it on her own.”

According to the source, the whole thing caused ‘a lot of tension’ with staff at Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace.

It comes just days after the father of the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex spoke to Good Morning Britain in a candid interview about his broken relationship with his daughter.

He said he has been repeatedly and unsuccessfully trying to get in touch with the former Suits star, who he claims has shunned him because she ‘believes everything she reads in the press’.

“I’ve been trying to reach out for several weeks. Every day I try to text her,” Thomas said.

“I just keep asking to respond back to me, and I haven’t gotten any response back. I’ve sent a letter as well.”

Many believe the family problems began when 74-year-old Thomas was accused of staging paparazzi photos in the days leading up to Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding, which he then announced he was not attending, due to suffering a heart attack.

“I’ve apologised a hundred times for that,” Thomas said of the photo scandal.

“I don’t feel that’s worthy of being shunned or ghosted — that’s ridiculous.”
