Meghan Markle Joined Jessica Alba at Kerry Washington's "Girls' Night" Birthday Party

Amid reports that Meghan Markle will be joining Prince Harry at the upcoming Invictus Games–marking a return to more joint Sussex appearances in 2025–the Suits alum made time for an intimate “girls’ night” on January 31. Markle was part of a star-studded guest list ringing in Kerry Washington’s 48th birthday on Friday night, and the actress-turned-entrepreneur could be seen journaling and meditating as part of a spiritual “ceremony" that was all about new beginnings.

Jessica Alba, who recently announced her divorce from Cash Warren, shared a TikTok video of the evening’s New Moon-themed festivities. Introducing Jill Wintersteen, the founder of astrology and wellness brand Spirit Daughter, the Honest Founder then panned to shots of how the group was welcoming in “fresh starts” with crystals, sage smudging, journaling, and individual reflection.

As Wintersteen walked the group through the energy clearing spiritual practices, Markle could be seen leaning into the activities by meditating with the group, journaling by herself, and taking part in the Aquarius-themed dinner party. Later, she could also be seen sitting at a table with other birthday guests and Washington as Alba walked towards the group holding two plates of glazed doughnuts lit with candles. The all-women group serenaded the Scandal star with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” The Fantastic Four actress also appeared to lean into the evening’s themes of rebirth, overcoming challenges, and new beginnings with some screenshot quotes, including one that read, “Butterfly…that flutters in the morning light, you have known many forms before you e’er took flight.”

“Happy Born Day to my girl #KerryWashington 🥳🎂,” Alba captioned the TikTok video. “There’s nothing like that fill your cup type of #girls night 💗.” She explained, “We came together for a beautiful ceremony led by Jill, founder of @Spirit Daughter 🌑✨New moons are a time for fresh starts … and this night was just that. We connected, #manifested, released what no longer serves us ... Feeling extra #grateful — to more nights like these ✨🫶🏽."

Markle didn’t share anything from the evening on her social media, but the Duchess of Sussex is close friends with both Alba and Washington. She last reunited with the Emmy Award-winning actress at December 4’s 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala to celebrate honoree Tyler Perry–one of the many solo Hollywood events she attended last year as part of her and Prince Harry’s “twin track approach” to their careers.

While Meghan and Harry took a divide and conquer approach to their work last year, a source recently told Express that royal watchers can see more couple appearances (and potentially some cameos from Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet) in the future.

“There will be a renewed focus on the Sussexes as a couple, as a brand and showcasing them as a couple and family,” the source revealed about the Sussexes’ new “PR plan.”
