Meet Nicky Hilton's 3 Kids! All About Lily-Grace, Theodora and Chasen
The fashion designer keeps her children's lives private
Nicky Hilton Rothschild is a superstar mother!
After her July 2015 marriage to James Rothschild, the socialite welcomed their first daughter, Lily-Grace Victoria Rothschild, a year later on July 8, 2016. Nicky and James had their second child, Theodora “Teddy” Marilyn Rothschild, on Dec. 20, 2017. Roughly five years after the birth of their second baby girl, Nicky gave birth to their son, Chasen Rothschild, in June 2022.
Juggling her career as a fashion designer and mother of three hasn’t always been easy. Nicky told PEOPLE in March 2023 that she’s remained committed to “establishing equal parenting” between herself and her husband.
“Balancing my kids with my fashion design business is a never-ending battle,” she admitted. “But it's important to set the right example for the children from the beginning.”
In October 2024, Nicky’s kids attended their first sleepover with her sister, Paris Hilton. While “they definitely were up late” at the “Stars Are Blind” singer’s home, Nicky said, “They loved it. Every minute … I’m bringing them over to Paris again, whether she likes it or not.”
From Nicky’s hectic life as a mother of three to adjusting to life with three children, here’s everything to know about Nicky Hilton’s kids.
Lily-Grace Victoria Rothschild, 8
Nicky and James’ first child, Lily-Grace, was born on July 8, 2016, almost exactly one year after their July 10, 2015, wedding. Nicky commemorated her daughter’s birth with a 2016 Instagram post on their first anniversary, writing they had received “the best anniversary gift ever, our beautiful daughter Lily-Grace.”
While Nicky leads a public life, her children are mostly kept out of the public eye. However, she offers the occasional glimpse into their lives with pictures on social media. Lily-Grace made a rare public appearance at a February 2020 L.O.L. Surprise! event in N.Y.C alongside her mother and younger sister, Teddy, whom she matched in a maroon dress and long sleeve top.
After welcoming her girls, Nicky opened up about her feelings of “mom guilt” in a February 2020 interview with PEOPLE, sharing that “it’s important to still do the things you love” as a mother.
“Whenever I do work trips, I’ll feel guilty about leaving the children,” Nicky said. “But at the same time, I think it’s also setting a good example for your children about working on what you’re passionate about. I want to lead by example … Navigate that balance and find that balance.”
The fashion expert also revealed one of her tried and true parenting tactics is to show “patience and being the best version of yourself.”
Nicky admitted, “I’ve learned that with children, it’s not what you say, it’s what you do,” adding that “our children mirror what we do so I think it’s very important to set a good example.”
Theodora “Teddy” Marilyn Rothschild, 6
Nicky’s youngest daughter, Teddy, arrived over a year after Lily-Grace on Dec. 20, 2017.
Years later, Nicky told PEOPLE in February 2020 that Teddy was about to begin attending school, and she revealed that both her daughters “just started French class together.”
“They can say ‘Hello,’ ‘How are you?’ and a few words. I think it’s important to introduce language at a young age,” said Nicky. “Teddy just got accepted into school for next year, so she’ll be joining her big sister, which is exciting — one drop-off at one school.”
As her daughters have gotten older, Nicky noticed they’ve taken after her love for fashion. She once told PEOPLE, “They are girly girls in the sense that they love fashion and dressing up."
Teddy, however, hasn’t always been keen on colorful fashion choices, Nicky said, explaining, “My daughters like the colors pink and purple now. My youngest daughter used to tell me that her favorite color was gray. Thankfully that has changed!”
Chasen Rothschild, 2
After having her daughters close in age, Nicky welcomed her sons five years after Teddy. PEOPLE confirmed the fashion designer was expecting her third child in January 2022, ahead of his July birth.
Paris threw her older sister a blue-bear-themed baby shower in May to commemorate the arrival of her first son. And while Nicky's mom, Kathy Hilton, missed Chasen’s baby shower, she told PEOPLE she’d be in the delivery room by her daughter’s side.
“I felt terrible that I could not be there,” Kathy said. “Nicky is easy. I fly in [to New York] for all the births. I'll be there holding her hand. It'll be in the next five or six weeks.”
Before Chasen’s birth, Kathy added that it was important for the family to spread the love to their daughters as they became big sisters — specifically “mak[ing] sure to give Teddy extra, extra attention.” Despite the change, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star affirmed Lily-Grace and Teddy were “so happy” and “very, very excited” about having a brother.
Nicky announced Chasen’s arrival in a heartfelt Instagram post on July 5. “We are officially a party of 5!” she captioned a picture of herself with a baby bump embraced by her husband. “Welcome to the world sweet boy. Mom, dad and big sisters could not be more smitten. 💙.”
The mother of three kept her son’s name private until March 2024. At the time, she revealed he was named Chasen because “we always liked the name, and it was unusual.”
Six months after Chasen’s birth, Paris welcomed her son Phoenix on January 16, 2023. While Nicky mainly keeps her son out of the spotlight, Nicky celebrated National Sons Day with a sweet photo of herself, Chasen, Paris and Phoenix in a September 2023 Instagram post.
“Happy National Sons Day to our sons! 💙 Love doing this boy mom life with my bestie. 😊,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
