A good concealer is a must in every makeup bag to hide the signs of a less than perfect night’s sleep.
A cheap and cheerful option that’s attracted thousands of positive reviews on Amazon Australia is the humble Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser concealer and highlighter that’s currently on sale for just $11.
Why it’s loved
Described as “awesome”, “my go to” and a “great concealer” by shoppers, it’s a lightweight, medium coverage concealer that promises to hide blemishes, erase dark circles and brighten your under eye area.
It can also be used to contour and highlight your face with 18 shades available to suit a wide range of skin tones.
For the best results, Maybelline recommends applying its ‘neutralizer’ shade first, and then layering on the shade that best highlights your skin tone and blending well.
“Wow, this looks really good,” beauty vlogger Jackie Aina says about the product in a YouTube video that’s clocked up 2.6 million views, “I get it, I see what the hype is all about.”
She adds that the concealer gives quite a bit of coverage, has a radiant matte finish and is “not super creamy but it’s not super watery either, it kind of reminds me of Select Cover Up from MAC”.

Meanwhile Aussie shoppers have similarly sung its praises saying, “Fave concealer for already couple of years, affordable and my skin doesn't look dry after usage.”
“I love this concealer, great for hiding dark circles, brightens eye area and so easy to apply,” another person said, while a third wrote, “Love this concealer. Decent coverage (but not full or valet looking). Very hydrating. Also works well as highlighter.”
The concealer comes as a pen with a felt tip applicator that’s loved by some and hated by others. Its advocates say that it’s super easy to use, you just twist the end and the product comes up onto the felt tip, then once applied, you can blend it in further using a beauty blender or brush.
However the downside is that you can’t clean it after every use so it’s not the most hygienic option.
While it normally retails for $19,95, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser is currently on sale at Amazon Australia for $10.95 and $16.49 at Chemist Warehouse.
