The Masked Singer Australia has proved it has the unusual ability to leave audiences baffled, giggling and apparently even weeping, all in the space of one episode.
On Tuesday evening, however, it was none other than judge Jackie O who was left sobbing during a particularly sad performance.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show host is known for her participation in hilarious, and sometimes offensive, stunts with her co-host but it was pure emotion she lead with on last night’s episode when she was left trying and failing to hold back tears during a particularly emotional rendition of 90’s hit The Day You Went Away from the Kitten.
Following the performance, the star admitted the song and character reminded her of her own daughter Kitty.
Jackie left the 10-year-old at home in Sydney while she filmed the program in Melbourne, and admitted the song made her miss her only daughter.
“It's making me miss my daughter,” Jackie admitted as she wiped her tears.
“You are so cute. You don't know how much she would love you,” she continued before throwing to the other judges while she composed herself.
Jackie has previously spoken about how difficult it was to leave her daughter while filming during the pandemic, revealing this filming is the longest she has ever been away from Kitty.
The emotional moment really struck a chord with fans, many of whom praised the judge for doing a great job while missing her family.
“I really feel for Jackie being away from her little one,” one woman wrote on Twitter. “She’s doing an ace job.”
Another was slightly less complimentary, saying the judge was the perfect example of how the pandemci is sending emotions haywire.
“Jackie O crying over kitten's performance on tonight's #MaskedSingerAU is the best representation of the pandemic rendering it impossible to respond to anything with the appropriate level of emotion,” the fan wrote.
It’s not the first time the judge has set tongues wagging this season.
Fans were left gobsmacked when it was revealed the radio personality was making a reported $1 million for her time on the show this season
A source told The Daily Mail the 45-year-old radio presenter is earning about $1million - which is believed to be the same amount Lindsay Lohan received to be a judge last season.
It’s also more than fellow judges Dannii Minogue, Dave 'Hughesy' Hughes, and newcomer Urzila Carlson.
Of course, Jackie’s involvement in the show comes with the added benefit of The Masked Singer being promoted daily on her top-rating Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM.
