Yahoo Lifestyle Mary Lou Retton’s Daughter Reveals Exciting Family News With Sweet Video
Mary Lou Retton's family has just grown by one, with her eldest daughter Shayla Schrepfer welcoming her first child on Feb. 11.
Shayla took to Instagram to introduce her child to the world the next day with a cute video that revealed whether the baby was a boy or a girl and their name.
"BABY SCHREPFER IS A… ????" Shayla began in the caption, with the clip showing someone holding the baby over two versions of onesies, one in blue and one in pink, with text over it saying, "Boy or Girl??" The video then cut to the baby wearing a blue onesie with their initials on it and a hat that said, "Sullivan."
"ITS A BOY!" text on the clip said. "Welcome to the world SULLY!" Shayla provided more information about her little one in the caption, writing, "BOY 🩵Sullivan Wyatt Schrepfer • 6lbs 7oz, 19 inches long Born on February 11, 2025 • OUR EVERYTHING!!!"

The exciting new update was posted by both Shayla and her husband, Wyatt Schrepfer, who also commented, "❤️❤️❤️." One of Shayla's younger sisters, McKenna, wrote in reaction to the post, "Screaming crying throwing up," and "I love you Sully SO MUCH."
"Congratulations!!! what a perfect little angel!! 🩵🥹," wrote someone in the comments, as others said, "Aawww so sweet! Congratulations on your new bundle! 🩵," and "Oh my goodness, he is precious 💙."
While this is an exciting development for Retton and her family, it's actually not her first grandchild. One of the Olympic gymnast's other daughters, Skyla, welcomed a little girl to the world last summer, as reported by People.
Not long before Skyla gave birth, Retton opened up to the publication about her thoughts on becoming a grandmother, declaring, "I'm going to be a LouLou. I don't want to be a Mimi, a Gigi, or a Nana. A LouLou!"
"I'll spoil them, and when they come over I'll just play with them, hide and seek, all of it. It's going to be LouLou's time!" she went on.
Retton shared her daughter's new video of baby Sullivan on her Instagram Stories but hasn't released any personal remarks about the big news. Along with Shayla, McKenna and Skyla, Retton is also a mother to her youngest daughter, Emma.
