Martha Stewart Welcomes New Member of Her Family

Martha Stewart's family has grown by one "beautiful" addition!

On Friday, the 83-year-old home design and recipe guru shared the first photo of her newest family member on Instagram, inviting fans to welcome a cat named Magnolia to the mix.

"Meet Magnolia," Stewart wrote in the caption accompanying her Jan. 17 upload to the picture-sharing platform. The photo captured Magnolia, a "beautiful" silver-shaded Persian cat and the "newest member" of the Martha Stewart Living namesake's family, as she sat perfectly on what appeared to be a slate floor.

According to the media personality, Magnolia is 4 years old and a rescue!

"I recently adopted her through @rocknrescue_ a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Bedford Hills, New York," Stewart wrote, begging her followers to "please consider adoption when looking for a pet."

Stewart also shared a few more photos of the newcomer to her blog, where she revealed more about her new furbaby.

Magnolia, who Martha renamed, originally lived in Manhattan, "but after her previous owner passed away, she was transported to New York City’s Animal Care and Control Center and then to Rock ‘N Rescue."

"Magnolia loves people and greets all those she sees," Stewart added, noting the feline is "also quite curious – roaming from room to room, upstairs and downstairs."

Other positive characteristics include Magnolia's love for being groomed, "she purrs with every stroke," her friendly disposition and healthy appetite.

"Right now, Magnolia is still going through a transitional phase – getting to know me and all the activity around my home, but she’s doing extremely well and will be a wonderful addition to my menagerie and my family," Stewart concluded, "Welcome home, Magnolia."

Along with Magnolia, Stewart's ever-growing furbaby brood includes five dogs—two Chow Chows and three French Bulldogs—as well as two other cats, several turkeys and horses. She also shares her only child, a daughter named Alexis Stewart, with her ex-husband, Andrew Stewart.
