He spoke of his love of film, sharing, "For me, it's that films create worlds so vivid and stories so powerful that we lose ourselves completely."

While reading from the teleprompter, a shocked expression crossed his face as his pants fell to his knees behind the podium, with Hamill quickly reaching down to grab them as he smoothly continued speaking, as seen in a clip of the moment shared by The Sun.

He continued talking about films, saying, "They create immersive cinematic landscapes that feel live whether they're set here in London or anywhere you imagine they can take you," before reading the nominees and presenting the award to Conclave starring Ralph Fiennes.

An insider reportedly sitting near the front at the BAFTAs as the wardrobe malfunction happened told The Sun, "All the big stars such as Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Adrien Brody would have seen it from their angle. Most guests looked horrified but said nothing."

"It was a moment that you wouldn’t have believed unless you saw it," they continued, noting, "It was like [his pants] were too big for him."

Hamill also helped pay tribute to his former co-star, Warwick Davis, before he received the BAFTA Fellowship, calling him "one of the hardest working men in show business." Harry Potter star Tom Felton presented the award to Davis.

As of writing, Hamill has not publicly commented on the wardrobe malfunction.
