Michelle Obama Drops Some Major Truth Bombs At Panel For Young Girls

Michelle Obama had some choice words for young girls when she spoke at 'The Power of an Educated Girl' panel in Harlem, New York this week.

The First Lady was there as part of her 'Let Girls Learn' initiative, urging the thousand-strong audience to get an education and dream big.

"Compete with the boys. Beat the boys," she said during the panel, as reported by the Associated Press.

Obama, who is a mother to two teenage girls herself and a Harvard Law School graduate, didn't mince her words in telling the girls that what they might think it important right now, won't matter in a few years time.

"There is no boy, at this age, that is cute enough or interesting enough to stop you from getting your education." she declared.

"I know being a teenager is hard... Half these people, you’re not going to know when you’re 60.”

"If I had worried about who liked me and who thought I was cute when I was your age, I wouldn’t be married to the president of the United States."

While we love her sentiment, and all she has achieved in her role as the FLOTUS, let's hope these girls grow up with the goal of becoming a President, and not stop at marrying one.
