Jennifer Lawrence Credits Katniss Everdeen With Inspiring Her Pay Gap Essay
Jennifer Lawrence recently made headlines when she penned a powerful piece for Lenny on the gender pay gap in Hollywood and her own experiences of sexism in the the industry.
However during a recent interview promoting the final instalment of The Hunger Games franchise, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 , the 25-year-old actress revealed her character in the movie was partly responsible for her bold move.

"I don't see how I couldn't be inspired by this character," she said during a press call in Berlin. star told reporters.
"I mean, I was so inspired by her when I read the books. It's the reason I wanted to play her"

"So I think it would be impossible to go four years with this character and not be inspired by her."
Donald Sutherland, who plays the villainous President Snow in the films, also spoke to the political power of the film.
"If it doesn't work, we're dead, all of us; if we don't evoke climate change, if we don't solve refugee problems, we don't do any of that, we're dead," he said, hoping that the films would inspire audiences to take action in real life.
