Yahoo Lifestyle Beyonce Named World's Most Powerful Celebrity
As if we needed any more proof that Beyonce runs the world, today she dethroned Oprah Winfrey from her number 1 spot as the most powerful celebrity on earth.
With annual earnings of $115 million, and $2.54 million per concert, not to mention her many endorsement deals, Beyonce was a tough contender for the coveted spot.
This year Oprah dropped to number 4 on the list, with pro-basketball player Lebron James and rapper Dr Dre pulling ahead of her.
Only 33 of the list of 100 were women, but women made up three of the top five, and five of the top 10 and nine of the top 20.
To make the list at all, celebrities must meet certain criteria set by Forbes, which include a combination of wealth, fame and social media prominence.
Surprisingly, Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Tom Cruise dropped off the list completely, perhaps indicating that they need to get themselves on Twitter stat.
