Victoria Beckham Leads The British Fashion Awards Nominations

Victoria Beckham has received one of the fashion industry's biggest honours, a nomination for Womenswear Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards.

The 41-year-old fashion designer is up against J.W. Anderson and Christopher Kane for the award, and whoever wins will join the fashion hall of fame alongside Alexander McQueen and Phoebe Philo for Céline.

Beckham has been building a solid name for herself in the fashion industry and has been nominated for the award for brand of the year three times, of which she won in 2011 and 2014.

This however is her first time nominated for the top award, however whether she wins or not the nomination alone cements her status as a major player in the fashion world.

The nominees are decided by a panel of 800 key fashion industry figures.

This years brand of the year nominees are Alexander McQueen, Anya Hindmarch, Burberry and Stella McCartney, and best red carpet designers are Christopher Kane, Erdem, Roksanda and Tom Ford.

In a positive step toward equality in the fashion industry, two of the three nominees for model of the year this year are black with Jourdan Dunn, Malaika Firth and Georgia May Jagger up for the award.

The BFAs will take place on November 23 in London.
