Victoria Beckham has been crowned the UK’s best entrepreneur of 2014 by a British business publication. Management Today said Beckham deserved the honour thanks to her focus on job creation, the successful launch of her first boutique and a strong annual turnover of £30 million in 2014.
Since launching the business five years ago, the fashion designer formerly known as Posh Spice has grown her brand considerably. Management Today noted that in the past five years, the company has grown from three staff members to 100 employees, with annual turnover rising from £1 million to £30 million in the same period. Not bad for the girl from Essex.
“She’s got a real business,” Andrew Saunders, the magazine’s deputy editor told The Telegraph. “She gets a lot of stick for being a celeb fashionista but I don’t think that’s fair. She has built something real out of her celebrity, which is quite a contemporary story. She deserves to be celebrated.”
Management Today estimated that Beckham is worth £210 million.
