It seems all our fashion dreams have just come true, with news breaking this morning that Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss are set to star together in a new Burberry campaign.
The British supermodel-duo are the faces of the label's fall campaign, with Burberry offering a sneak peek at what’s to come via the above selfie.
While details so far are scarce, we do know that legendary photographer Mario Testino shot the two together in what’s sure to become one of the most iconic ad campaigns of all time.
Delevingne, 21, has been hailed as this generation’s Moss, 40, after skyrocketing to fame in 2011.
She’s now one of the world’s most in-demand models, walking the runways for the likes of Chanel and Dior, and starring in prestigious ad campaigns for Mulberry and Burberry.
Delevingne is not only known for her pretty face however: the model has elicited plenty of press for her quirky, often outrageous antics.
"She's a character,” said Chanel’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld of Delevingne. “She's the Charlie Chaplin of the fashion world. She is kind of genius, like a character out of a silent movie. I would see her better in a silent movie than a talkie because she over-accents the movement. Girls admire her like they used to Kate Moss. They all want to be as free as her."
The UK Sun also referred to Delevingne as the new Kate Moss last year, saying, “It’s not just Cara’s professional prowess that is getting her noticed. She is a regular on the party circuit and her wild antics rival those of Miss Moss — she actually out-partied Kate at her own book launch last month.”
It seems not everyone agrees though: fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell famously shut down any comparisons between the two during an interview last year.
"Cara is Cara Delevingne, Kate is Kate Moss," explained Naomi. "People are just saying that because she is the same height as Kate. But there is only going to be one Kate Moss. Kate is an icon.
''Cara may become an icon: who knows how long she wants to do it for? It has just begun for her and she is doing amazingly well... I was actually asked to speak to Cara, but I don't know her very well."
While Naomi has a point, the above selfie only seems to prove that Moss and Delevingne have finally figured out what everyone else already knew: they’re famous apart, but unstoppable together.
Cara famously took selfies of herself on the runway at the recent Giles show.
