Yahoo Lifestyle Jennifer Aniston Slams ‘The Rachel’ Haircut
There might be rumours of a Friends movie, but Jennifer Aniston certainly won't be reprising the hairstyle she made famous in the 90s.
Dubbed 'The Rachel' cut after her character in the hit TV show, the iconic hairstyle was one of the most requested of the decade after it was deemed the "must-have" style of the season.
But for Aniston, maintaining the cut was a "pain in the butt".
"I had to see (my hairdresser) Chris McMillan every six weeks to keep this darn thing up, because it was a "hairdo"," Aniston told the Telegraph UK. "It was a pain in the butt, to be honest, one of the hardest hairstyles to maintain, unless Chris did it. I've got very thick, full hair so it would take on a shape of its own that I didn't always want. I don't think I looked very good with it."

In an attempt to stop spending so much time at the hairdresser, the actress ended up growing the hairstyle out into the long layers she's now known for.
"Hairstyles require too much work," added Aniston. "Me, the blow-drier and the hairbrush weren't meant for each other. I look back on Farah Fawcett's legendary [1970s] hairdo and think, that was beautiful. But The Rachel? Ugh, not so much."
Aniston, who's known for having some of the best hair in the industry, says she finds it funny when people praise her style.
"I chuckle when I hear people say I have great hair, because when I was a kid it was horrible," Aniston continued. "It was big and frizzy, thick and unmanageable - down to my butt with bangs. I remember going to Vidal Sassoon when I was about 13. I took a picture of the actress Valerie Bertinelli with me and asked the hairdresser for that style. I came out with a mullet."
Thankfully, Aniston has recovered from the trauma.
