Yes, it takes hard work to be a Victoria's Secret model, (read all about their grueling pre-show bootcamp here), but the Angels also have a few tricks up their sleeve when it comes to looking good on the runway.

This year, they called in Kim Kardashian's personal tanner to achieve their unworldly bronzed glow - and they reportedly ran his supplies almost dry.

The Daily Mail reports that beautician Jimmy Coco layered three coats of tanner on each model, amounting to a total of 3.5 litres. And at 25 minutes per coat, Coco would have spent approximately 2025 minutes on the job, or 33 hours.

But Coco isn't phased at all - perhaps unsurprisingly, he seems grateful for the job of grooming 27 of the most beautiful models in the world, a role he says was "accidentally" given to him by former Angel Miranda Kerr.

"The VS Fashion Show came to Los Angeles in 2006," Coco explained. "I lived a block away from [then] Kodak Theater where the show was happening. I waited in the hotel lobby and introduced myself to Miranda Kerr as she walked by, and offered her a spray tan.

"Soon, all of the Angels were asking for a tan and I have been hired to be Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Tan Man ever since."

Yesterday's show certainly didn't skimp on the production side of things either, with the Telegraph UK reporting that it costs around $12 million per year to create the Victoria's Secret show.

"Since it started 11 years ago, the budget for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show has grown considerably from $120,000 to today's bank-breaking $12 million," reported the paper.

Nowadays, the Victoria's Secret contract is so highly regarded that the brand regularly has to turn down requests by high-profile celebrities "desperate" to be an honorary Angel.

"Victoria's Secret is one of the most renowned and respected contracts a girl can pick up," said a New Zealand model agent. "It is one of the few jobs in modeling along with a worldwide Calvin Klein exclusive or a major fragrance or beauty contract that can make you into a superstar overnight."
