Margot Robbie Goes Vintage in Barbie-inspired Prada Dress, Penélope Cruz Wears Sheer Chanel Gown and More Stars at Gotham Awards 2023
Michelle Williams, Penélope Cruz, Margot Robbie and more stars turned up Monday in New York for the 2023 Gotham Awards, honoring the best and brightest actors, producers and directors in American film and television.
Robbie arrived wearing a ’60s-themed look inspired by the “Black Magic Ensemble” Barbie, which was released in 1964. The actress’ custom strapless Prada gown, styled by Andrew Mukamal, was accessorized with a sheer bow cape, evening gloves and peep-toe Manolo Blahnik sandals.

Penélope Cruz put a high-fashion spin on the sheer trend in a white Chanel gown with diamond patterns. Cruz’s gown was from the brand’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection, which was inspired by the camellia flower. The Spanish actress stars in the upcoming film “Ferrari,” which will see a Dec. 25 release in theaters.
Natalie Portman
Natalie Portman bloomed in a strapless Dior gown with multicolored floral embroidery. The actress paired her garden-inspired look with silver strappy sandals.
Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams went structural in a Schiaparelli black bustier top with an asymmetrical skirt from the brand’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The actress’ outfit, which featured the brands signature gold keyhole buttons, was paired with dazzling Belperron jewelry.
Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore donned black draped Saint Laurent gown with bell sleeves, styled by Kate Young. Moore is set to star alongside Natalie Portman and Charles Melton in the Netflix film “May December,” which will be released on the streaming platform Friday.
Carey Mulligan
Carey Mulligan embraced a one-shoulder Valentino gown with a 3D floral decal and stunning side train. The actress posed alongside her “Maestro” costar Bradley Cooper, who also plays the role as director in the upcoming biopic film about legendary composer Leonard Bernstein.
