Mandy Moore and family find shelter at Hilary Duff's home during L.A. wildfires
Moore had said she was "grateful for the kindness of friends."
Hilary Duff is being a good friend to Mandy Moore, one of the many celebrities forced to leave home as scary wildfires rip through Los Angeles.
Musician Griffin Goldsmith, the brother and Dawes bandmate of the This Is Us actress' husband, Taylor Goldsmith, thanked Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma, for "currently housing my brother's family," in a post on Instagram.
"They've taken care of my entire family from the moment this began," he wrote. "I will never be able to thank them adequately. This is the kindest act any human could do for another. They are the most beautiful, selfless people we’ve ever known."
As Griffin wrote in his post, the fires destroyed his and much of his family's homes and neighborhood in the Altadena section of Los Angeles County.
"We had convinced our whole family and closest friends to join us in Altadena. Our parents were around the corner. They lost their house as well. Taylor and Mandy are just down the street," he wrote. "[My wife] Kit's best childhood best friend Chelsey and her husband Michael live about six blocks away. Wylie and his wife Clara are two blocks from us. Our first crew member and very old friend, Jake, and his wife Andy are just down the street. All of these houses are gone. The thing we mourn the most is the loss of the community."

Griffin was grateful to those who had supported him, especially Duff and Koma, who married in 2019. He called them "dear friends" who "thought it wise to set up a gofundme for us to help with everything moving forward."
Moore received some backlash when she shared information about that GoFundMe campaign, prompting her to tell critics to "Kindly F OFF."

The following day, she said she was, "Grateful for the kindness of friends that we had a place to land last night."
On Friday, she found out that the main portion of her house is still standing. "For now. It’s not livable but mostly intact," she wrote on Instagram and revealed she felt "weird survivors guilt."
Moore is the mother of three young children: August "Gus" Harrison, 3; Oscar "Ozzie" Bennett, 2; and 3-month-old Louise Everett.
