MAFS' Martha and Michael skip scheduled TV appearance

She was at the centre of the biggest showdown on Married At First Sight last night, but wine-throwing Martha Kalifatidis shunned the spotlight on Monday morning and skipped a scheduled TV appearance.

The 30-year-old makeup artist was expected to do a live TV interview on the Today show, but she and husband Michael Brunelli failed to show up.

Instead, fellow MAFS stars Elizabeth, Susie, Melissa, Cam and Jules represented the show for the early morning TV spot.

“Michael and Martha were meant to be here this morning,” Today host Deborah Knight revealed. “Do we know why they’re not?”

“Still getting red wine stains out, maybe,” Elizabeth joked.

Last night Martha was at the centre of the chaos during a very dramatic reunion dinner party.

She shamelessly poured a glass of red wine on Cyrell’s head, and admitted it “wasn’t a spur of the moment thing”.

The reality star said Cyrell had been getting to her throughout the night, especially as she pointed out her ‘fakeness’ to husband Michael.

“With Cyrell, what happened, I did pour a glass of wine on her head, understandably she lost it and she poured a drink back on me,” Martha said in a piece-to-camera.

“It wasn’t a spur of the moment thing. She just kept on baiting me and I feel like she knows how to press my buttons.”

So Martha acknowledged what she had done, but was there any remorse?

“If I could go back, I would obviously not pour a drink on her head because that’s gross and I would actually judge a girl that would do that to another girl,” Martha told producers.

But if you’re hoping these two ladies will be friends again, don’t hold your breath.

“Cyrell is trash beyond anything I know and I am embarrassed,” Martha then said.

What’s more, her apology to Cyrell wasn’t taken so well by her co-star.

“You are as fake as your nose, lip and boob job,” Cyrell told Martha.

“It’s a shame you couldn’t find a plastic surgeon that could fix your personality because that’s what the fakest (sic) the most hunny.

“And your bull***t sorry means s**t all to me. And that red stain suits you, because you’re as trashy as that dress.”

It’s going to take a lot more to mend the rift between these two, but something tells us that won’t be happening any time soon.

Married At First Sight’s reunion finale airs on Monday night at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
