MAFS' Lauren Huntriss reveals exciting family update: 'Greatest gift'

Less than a week before the 2024 season of Married At First Sight Australia is set to air, a former bride from the show has revealed that she's expecting her first child.

Laurent Huntriss, who was paired with Matthew Bennett on season six of the controversial Channel Nine reality TV series, announced the exciting news alongside a video of her and her fiancé, Wade Burns, holding up a Polaroid snap of their scan.

"The Greatest Gift Of All Coming In July," Lauren captioned the video.

She also added the hashtags: "Pregnancyannouncement #Pregnant #Babycomingsoon #Cancerbaby"

Lauren's 99,000 followers rushed to congratulate her, with one person writing: "Omg babe best way to announce ever".

"Best news ever! 🥰 You will be an amazing mum. Congratulations to you and Wade. Love the announcement 😍" another fan wrote.

Lauren 'disgusted' by her MAFS edit

Lauren and 'virgin' Matt were paired together by the team of experts on MAFS, however, things soon went south when Matt told Lauren that he wasn't attracted to her.

They ended up being the first couple to bow out of the experiment, with Lauren later telling the Kyle and Jackie O show that she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw how she was portrayed on TV.

"I felt disgusted (when I first saw the edited version) and I was so upset. Then I received so much hate," she said.

"For them to paint me as this nympho, it was disgusting. I feel so let down."

In June 2023, Lauren got engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Wade Burns, taking to Instagram at the time to write" "Today my best friend got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the easiest yes! I can’t wait to grow old with you".

In November 2021, Matthew announced he had proposed to his girlfriend, taking to Instagram to share photos of the couple flagged by two alpacas as he got down on one knee.
