MAFS' Dom admits her brief Italian romance is over: 'Tough'

Just two weeks after she announced her new relationship with a mystery man, Married At First Sight star Domenica Calarco has admitted the couple have called it quits.

The 29-year-old reality TV star was dating an Italian man, known to fans as ‘Mr Napoli’, while she spent time in Europe.

Talking about the ‘tough’ break-up on her Sit With Us podcast with Ella Ding, she confessed that she wasn't expecting her relationship to end.

“My summer romance hasn’t played out how I guess I wanted it to play out,” she told listeners. “As much as I want to say everything and talk about everything, I think there are certain details of this thing that I wanna keep private.”

Domenica said the pair were now ‘just friends’, and the fact that she could ‘pull herself together’ after the split showed how ‘strong’ she really is.

The star introduced ‘Mr Napoli’ to their listeners at the end of August, and shared he only spoke minimal English.

‘I’m not that girl’

The star also chatted with Ella about her future marriage plans and what she’s looking for in a relationship.

“I’m at a stage where I don’t even give a s**t if I don’t get married ever again,” she said. “I’m not that girl now that needs the big f**king f**k off diamond on her finger, I’m not the girl who needs the big white dress, I’m so past that.”

Domenica told listeners that she isn’t looking for a potential husband to swoop in and ‘save her’. Instead, she’s looking for somebody who is ‘kind, compassionate’ and ‘makes her laugh’.

She also revealed that while she loved her time with her Italian partner, she has realised she’s content with her life without him.

“This whole Italian love affair has been amazing, and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life,” she said.

“I think I’ve really just reached this point where I’m okay — if I want to have casual sex, I’ll have casual sex. I’m actually really happy on my own and focusing on me, my own mental health, my life and my career.”
