Ludacris is as excited as Fast & Furious fans are to find out details on the franchise's final film.

"I'm waiting on updates myself, man," the rapper tells Entertainment Weekly. "I wish I could give you some info, but I wouldn't want to give you the incorrect info. All I can say for now is that I'm waiting to get it, and I know we've been working very long and hard on it in order for it to be what it needs to be: to be the last installment and bring everything together."

Fast & Furious fans are still getting a taste of their favorite family with Häagen-Dazs' first-ever Super Bowl commercial, premiering Sunday during the third quarter of Super Bowl LIX (but you can watch the full ad below now). The 30-second commercial stars Ludacris, Vin Diesel, and Michelle Rodriguez as they slow down for a cold treat — and trade in their trademark Coronas for ice cream. Fast X director Louis Leterrier was a consultant on the project, which was directed by Lance Acord.

Ludacris tells EW that he tried to get intel on the final Fast & Furious movie from Diesel while they filmed their Häagen-Dazs commercial. "Oh yeah, I was asking, but everybody is tightlipped, you know what I mean?" he says. "No one has the true answers yet, until the studio greenlights anything."

That's why he was excited to return to his character Tej, even if it was only for a little bit to film this Super Bowl commercial. "We are definitely playing Dom, Letty, and Tej," he says. "These are my favorite people, Vin and Michelle."

The trio shot the ad in November on the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles, which is where key Fast & Furious scenes were filmed.

"To know that we were shooting on the PCH, which is nostalgia because a lot of the first movie was shot there, it was great," Ludacris says. "But the sour part of it is that after we shot there, these fires happened, and I know a lot of people lost their homes in Malibu, so it's bittersweet. What's great is that Häagen-Dazs is partnering with Habitat for Humanity, so we're doing everything that we can in order to help out these families and help out these people that no longer have homes and have been affected extremely by this fire."

While it might be a while until the last Fast & Furious movie begins production, Ludacris loved getting the chance to celebrate the franchise on the eve of its milestone anniversary, because family (and ice cream) is everything.

"We're coming up on celebrating 25 years from the very first movie," he says. "Knowing that this has been a quarter century is unheard of, and even crazier to think about. But celebrating that and knowing how far we've come and just this whole theme of family I think is so important, especially with all the things that are going on in the world, so it meant the world."

As for what ice cream flavor Ludacris would slow down for? "I'm more of a strawberry and chocolate guy, but my kids, they're just so traditional with the vanilla," he says with a laugh. "They don't even want anything on it." They're just living their life one scoop at a time.
