Lourdes Leon's see-through mini dress looks more like a spider web than actual clothing
It is officially fashion month, which for those unaware means endless runway shows, red carpet events and all our favourite celebs pulling out their most daring looks. No small feat when the naked dress trend has been at fever pitch this spring/summer in the form of cut-outs, sheer fabrics and optical illusion graphic prints.
One star who did rise to the challenge was Julia Fox. She kicked off New York Fashion Week going practically naked, save for a teeny tiny chainmail bodysuit and floor-grazing black patent trench coat. Admittedly a very literal interpretation, but only Julia Fox could have done it.
And now Lourdes Leon has followed her lead. Attending Victoria's Secret New York Fashion Week event to celebrate The Victoria’s Secret World Tour, Madonna's daughter arrived in a *very* see-through mini dress that looked like she'd wrapped herself in a spider web.
Made from a stretched metal textile in an open weave to resemble the appearance of a spider web, Lourdes' dress was created by Ukrainian-born, U.S.-based fashion designer Natalie Fedner. Similar to a spider web in more ways than one, the stretch metal is incredibly strong and has a six-way stretch. According to the designer's website, it instantly molds to the body, adopting the heat of the wearer within 15 seconds for comfortability.
The model and singer further upped the ante by freeing the nip and going braless, wearing just a tiny black thong under the design. Towering black peep-toe platform heels completed the look, with Lourdes adding a silver chain necklace and a few rings as her only accessories.
As for her beauty look, she wore her long dark hair pin-straight and down her back, coordinating her manicure that featured chromatic tips to her dress.
We're only two days in and the celebs are serving serious lewks. Bring on the rest of fashion month, we say!
