Loretta Lynn’s Grandson Just Listed His $7 Million Texas Estate
Country singer Loretta Lynn’s grandson, Ethan Lyell, just added a renovated Texas estate to the market. Set in Flower Mound, a town named after the 12.5-acre mound located at the heart of the community, the six-bedroom mansion is now up for grabs at $6.95 million. Damon Williamson and Megan Williamson of the Agency Dallas hold the listing.
Part of the Landing, a gated community with large estates spanning a two-acre minimum, the Bayshore Drive home was built in 1998. Lyell, who accompanied his grandmother on tour during summer breaks in high school, bought the pad spanning over 10,000 square feet in 2020. He then poured $5.5 million into renovations to help it mirror an English manor. According to Mansion Global, the estate has an entirely new feel, with updated interiors and an exterior that “help the home flow better.” The property also sits on a newly landscaped yard that offers up an oasis pool and an irrigated garden that grows produce.

The home’s most modernized feature, though, is its Tesla solar roofing. The shingle-style component—made of both glass solar and steel tiles—absorbs sunlight and converts direct current energy into alternating current energy that can power the home. The new roofing also protects the estate from wind and rain damage, of course. But that’s just the cherry on top of this chic property.

Inside, you’ll be greeted by a spiral staircase in the foyer. Here, a library and the formal dining room are accessible on either side of the central walkway. Hardwood flooring and chandeliers lead the way to the great room, which offers up a massive fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows. Dual islands anchor the gourmet kitchen with ample cabinetry nearby. Owners access the primary suite on ground level, too. A stone fireplace functions as the bedroom centerpiece, while natural light illuminates the ensuite bath’s dual sinks and wooden cabinetry.
Three other bedrooms can be found upstairs, with two set under cathedral-style ceilings. Additional amenities include two game rooms, a home gym, and covered terrace. Lyell and his husband planned to move to Scotland when they retired, Mansion Global reports. Now they’re doing just that, trading in their Texas home for a 50-acre oceanfront estate in the country.
