Any parent needs to know their baby is sleeping safely.

There are so many baby monitors on the market, it can be hard to tell which are worth investing in, but the Lollipop Smart Baby Monitor with True Crying Detection has garnered over 2,300 4-star reviews on Amazon, and parents are hailing it as "amazing."

The monitor, which is $245, is a Wi-Fi and video-based solution that allows you to watch your baby in the dark with infrared night vision.

It also tracks your baby's sleep so you can discover their sleep patterns. All you need to do is set up the camera, attach it to your phone via the Lollipop app, and you're ready to go.

The camera has a live view, so you can check the feed on your phone or tablet from wherever you are. It has a 'cry detection' mode so you can tell the difference between ambient noises and when your baby is crying. It will also send you an alert if your baby cries when you're out of the room, or moves around in the cot.

It's also possible to set a 'cross detection' mode so you can set a border inside the camera view to track movements in your baby’s cot. If anything happens outside the border, such as they get their leg stuck, or try to climb out, you’ll be notified.

If you want to rewatch anything important, that's possible too - the camera automatically saves a three-second video of any significant events, such as your baby crying.

There's also a built-in speaker so you can play white noise or lullabies, or talk to your baby through the monitor. Plus, there's a multi-streaming option so you can see different rooms at once, and also share views of your baby with doting friends and family by sending them either the link to the live camera view, or a link to a pre-recorded video.

The monitor is in a non-toxic silicone, bendable stand, so you can wrap it round the bars of a cot, stand it on any surface, or mount it on the wall. It comes in three colours, blue, pink and yellow so it's perfect for any nursery.
