Lisa Wilkinson shares husband Peter FitzSimons' hilarious fail
They’ve been married 27 years but Lisa Wilkinson has revealed that she’s still surprised by her husband, Peter FitzSimons’ actions.
In a screenshot of a text exchange between The Project host and her 21-year-old daughter, Billi FitzSimons, Lisa revealed a hilarious fail Peter had in the laundry room while she was away.
“Hey sweetheart. Are you sure the dryer is broken. Or have the filters just not been cleaned out?,” Lisa asked.
Billi responded, landing her dad in hot water.
“Dad threw washing powder in with the clothes because he thought it was the washing machine. Sooo probs filter? I don’t know,” Billi wrote.
A dumbfounded Lisa simply wrote back to her daughter saying: “You. Are. Kidding????????????”
Lisa then showed she has a sense of humour about the whole situation by posting about it on her Instagram account for her 318,000 followers.
“When you’ve been away from home for almost two weeks and your daughter thinks there’s something you should probably know... Anyone got a spare washing line I can borrow?” the 59-year-old wrote.
“This is both hilarious and shocking @lisa_wilkinson @billifitz! It’s fitting that he was hanging out with @benfordham9 this afternoon because their domestic common sense seems to be at a similar level,” 7 Network journalist Jodie Speers commented.
Another woman shared a story of her own husband’s hilarious fail, saying: “We ran out of dishwasher tablets once when I was away. The husband threw OMO in it. His excuse: well, the dishwasher’s a front loader”.
Renewed vows
Lisa and Peter renewed their vows in October 2017, after 25 years of marriage.
To make the occasion even more special, the media power couple went back the Bathers Pavilion at Sydney's Balmoral Beach, where they first said 'I do' in 1992.
Lisa was the picture of elegance in a stunning off-the-shoulder gown by Australian designers Pallas Couture.
Cinched in at the waist, it featured a voluminous A-line skirt and had a beautiful pattern throughout.
One of the best things about renewing your vows is getting to do it in front of your children, and Lisa was driven to the waterfront venue with her son Louis, who had the pleasure of walking her down the aisle, and daughter Billi, who served as a bridesmaid.
