Liquid Death Just Released Its Most Outrageous Drink Yet

It’s a favorite sweet treat, made chuggable.

What did you think the first time you saw the name of the product Liquid Death? Liquid what? And while we all quickly learned that Liquid Death was simply spring water in a can (a more-likely-to-get-recycled format than plastic), the name was chosen to garner attention, and it worked.

The brand has since gone beyond plain water. It now has several flavored waters, both still and sparkling. It makes iced tea and packets of Death Dust, a powdered hydration drink mix. Its newest product comes from a partnership with a popular ice cream brand, and it's safe to say, we’ve never seen water quite like this before.

Liquid Death Launches Collaboration with Van Leeuwen

The ice cream brand Van Leeuwen is known for some unexpected collaborations. A few years ago, Kraft teamed up with the brand to create mac and cheese-flavored ice cream. Last year, Hidden Valley Ranch and Van Leeuwen released the first-ever ranch ice cream. Now, we know what you're thinking, but Van Leeuwen's collab with Liquid Death isn’t for some macabre, death-inspired ice cream. It’s for ice cream-flavored water.

Liquid Death is launching a limited-edition Hot Fudge Sundae Sparkling Water in collaboration with Van Leeuwen. That’s not so scary, right?

"We've seen a lot of brands make their own flavor of ice cream, but we're the first brand to make ice cream-flavored sparkling water that tastes exactly like a hot fudge sundae,” said Greg Fass, Liquid Death’s VP of Marketing, “We're all about making healthy beverages more fun, so teaming up with Van Leeuwen Ice Cream to make the first chuggable, 20 calorie hot fudge sundae was the perfect pairing."

The can of sparkling water tastes “just like a hot fudge sundae” according to Liquid Death, made with natural cocoa and vanilla flavors and lightly sweetened with agave and stevia.

Curious consumers can get the first-of-its-kind sparkling water starting August 13th at 11am ET. 8-pack cases of tallboys will be available on Amazon and Liquid Death’s TikTok Shop. Van Leeuwen scoop shops will also have single cans for sale.

Those in New York City or Los Angeles have an opportunity to get a free can of the unique sparkling water at the following pop-up events:

• August 13: Washington Square Park in New York City, beginning at 12pm ET

• August 17: Abbot Kinney in Los Angeles, beginning at 11am PT

Chugging down water with the taste of a hot fudge sundae may not be as satisfying as sinking your spoon into a real ice cream treat, but in this summer heat, an ice-cold, hot fudge sundae-flavored sparkling water may be the next best thing.
