Lily Allen debuts David Bowie-inspired hair transformation

Lily Allen just paid homage to music legend David Bowie – who passed away in 2016 – with her latest hair transformation.

In a series of photos shared to her Instagram account, Lily unveiled a choppy mullet and fiercely red colouring, comparing her new 'do to that of David Bowie who was famed for his iconic orange mullet.

"Getting Ziggy with it," she wrote in the caption, giving a direct nod to the 'Starman' singer who inspired the new look.

Unsurprisingly, the Lily/David hair 'do went down a real treat with fans in the comments. "Hellll yeahhh! Ziggy Stardust looks SO good on you," wrote one fan along with a lightening bolt emoji. "Yes Bowie queen!" added another, with someone else commenting: "There's a Starman."

Elsewhere in the comments section, fans pointed how well Lily pulls off the striking style. "Of course you also look good with a mullet. OF COURSE!!!" wrote one follower, with another adding: "That’s THE haircut of your life." A third chimed in with, "Wow love it! The best style on you yet and you suit them all."

Lily, who shot to fame in 2006 with her single 'Smile', is no stranger to hair transformations. Despite sporting her trademark black hair and blunt fringe combo for much of the 2000s, in recent years we've seen her switch things up altogether, stepping out onto red carpets across the last two decades as a brunette, blonde and redhead.

As for what's next for the singer's strands, guess we'll have to wait and see...
