Many parents spend the months leading up to their baby's birth preparing to welcome a little one into the family. Not every family gets that opportunity, however, as seen in Lifetime's new series.
Lifetime's shocking new unscripted series I Wasn't Expecting a Baby! shares the astonishing stories of women who experienced cryptic pregnancies. In other words, the women had zero indication they were pregnant before finding themselves in labor and, in some cases, giving birth. One in 2,500 women experience pregnancies that go unnoticed until delivery, per the network's release announcing the series.
A trailer for the new series shared exclusively with PEOPLE shows just how shocked some of these women were to realize what was happening to their bodies.

"The doctor came up to me and said, 'You're 38 weeks pregnant and giving birth today,' " one mom recalls of her experience.
Another mom says, "I went to the hospital and came out with a whole baby."
"We were shocked," a third mom shares. "I really thought I was going to die."
Sharing stories that range from shocking to scary, these women are bringing awareness to a phenomenon that isn't entirely uncommon.
