Ariana Grande had her fans in raptures thanks to her stunning Met Gala 2024 look. The Wicked star and Grammy Award-winning artist looked every but the ethereal superstar in her custom gown from Loewe, the design house responsible for dressing several of the A-list attendees, including Anna Wintour, Greta Lee, Dan Levy and Ambika Mod.

Ariana donned two outfits for the evening as she took to the stage for a surprise performance - the second from Margiela Couture. However, it was her first gown that not only delighted fans but held extra special meaning for the singer.

The dress featured a multi-layered, pleated silk chiffon skirt cascading down from a shimmering corset tied at the back and featuring whimsically hanging ribbons, which completed Ari's fairy-goddess ensemble to perfection.

While many fans guessed that the gown was a nod to her 'good witch' character, Glinda, in Wicked, the design actually had another sweet special meaning.

Mother-of-pearl was beautifully incorporated into the dress's bodice, which Ariana revealed is actually her birthstone.

"I loved the tie-in of the opalescence and little hues of pink and green for Glinda’s bubble and for Wicked,” she told Vogue atop the red carpet. “Pearls are just made in the most unexpected of ways. You never know what beautiful things you will find in unexpected places.”

The singer was dressed by her long-time stylist, Mimi Cuttrell, who shared with Teen Vogue that she "drew inspiration from The Birth of Venus and Primavera’s Three Graces by Botticelli."

Said Cuttrell, "I love the whimsical beauty and ethereal femininity of both paintings. The idea that a pearl has evolved over time and is, at its essence, a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ really resonated with the theme of this year's Met Gala. A pearl is also Ariana’s birthstone, which makes the look extra special.

Fans were quick to share their appreciation for the look on social media, with one person gushing, "Ariana Grande in custom Loewe by Jonathan Anderson at the Met Gala, it’s so heavenly and feels very on brand for her, I loveeee."

"She was a fairy," another added. "Ariana Grande at the Met Gala is everything I need and more."

Exclaimed another, "Grande just served up a year's worth of Pinterest-worthy inspiration, satisfying both her fans and the fairycore trendsetters!"

On the singer's Instagram post where she showed off the dreamy dress, she was inundated with compliments from fans telling her how "stunning, "perfect", and "breathtaking" she looked.

"So gorgeous ♡ I’m in love with this look," wrote one fan.
