Levi's mom Kallie has been sharing heartbreaking updates on her young son's condition after he drove his tractor into a Utah river

Kallie and Spencer Wright have shared a heartbreaking family update.

After their son Levi, 3, was hospitalized in critical condition after driving his toy tractor into a Utah river at the end of May, the rodeo star’s wife shared that they are “letting him go” in a post shared to Facebook on June 2.

“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world's best neurologists & millions of prayers we are here in the face of our biggest fear,” Kallie began of her son.

Levi died later that day after he was removed from life support, family friend Mindy Sue Clark confirms to PEOPLE. "Levi was the absolute best little boy. It's going to be tough navigating life without him," Clark says.

In the weeks following his accident, Kallie had been giving followers regular updates on Levi’s condition, sharing posts on social media about her family.

Spencer and Kallie have been married for six years and are parents to three children, daughters Steeley and Brae Milo and son Levi.

On his Instagram, where he primarily posts about his rodeo career, Spencer has given the occasional loving look into his family life.

They’ve been married for six years

The couple first tied the knot on May 1, 2018. The following day, Spencer celebrated the special milestone, sharing a photo of Kallie in her wedding gown and him in his cowboy hat.

“I feel like the luckiest man in the world, yesterday I married my best friend,” he wrote at the time. “I’m excited for what the future will hold and am happy I picked her for my partner on this ride! #MrAndMrsWright #HusbandAndWife 5.1.18”

They welcomed their first child in 2019

Spencer and Kallie became parents for the first time as they welcomed their daughter Steeley in April 2019. “Pretty hard to describe the emotions that came to the surface when this little miracle was delivered today!” he wrote at the time. “@kalliedawnwright is a pretty good broodmare! Steeley Lorraine Wright was born today at 11:09 weighing 7pounds and 4 ounces measuring 19inches!”

Before her birth, the couple fittingly revealed the sex of their firstborn with a rodeo-themed photo that showcased them riding horses as a pony carried pink balloons.

In 2020, Spencer celebrated Steeley’s first birthday with a cute image of her gazing at her cake. “Happy First Birthday to my baby girl! I love you Steeley! @kalliedawnwright,” he captioned the sweet snap.

He called Kallie a 'rockstar' after giving birth to Levi

In March 2021, the couple became parents again as they welcomed their son Levi. Spencer announced the exciting news with a carousel of images on Instagram from the hospital, applauding Kallie for the delivery.

“Proud dad to a new baby boy!” he wrote at the time. “Levi Spencer Wright born March 24th 11:31am 7lbs 9oz 19inches long! So proud of my wife Kallie she’s a rockstar!”

They welcomed their third child in 2023

In September 2023, Spencer announced the arrival of their third child, Brae Milo Wright. For the momentous occasion, he shared a family snap of Kallie with her three children. “We welcomed Brae Milo Wright into the world about a month ago, so here’s my world in a picture!” Spencer captioned the Instagram post at the time.

Spencer’s wife and children are clearly his biggest supporters. Over the years, Spencer has shared photos of Kallie and the kids cheering him on at events.

“I’m a pretty lucky guy, got to take my family to Pendleton this weekend!” he captioned a photo from 2019 in which he was seen holding up Steeley, then still a baby. That same year, he shared another photo of him and Kallie donning matching cowboy hats as he held their little girl. “Had a great time in Calgary with my family!! Always a fun rodeo!” he wrote alongside the image.

After driving his toy tractor into a Utah river on May 21, Kallie and Spencer’s son Levi has been hospitalized in critical condition. Over the past few weeks, Kallie has been giving her followers various updates on his condition, noting that she and Spencer have been leaning on each other for support during this time.

“... I know a lot of you are worried about Spencer & I. I can say this in full confidence, I could not do this without him,” she wrote on Facebook. “I already knew we made a hell of a team but this is showing how strong we really are together. If we didn't have each other then you could worry, but we have who we really need by our sides!”

On June 2, Kallie shared an update on their little boy's condition, revealing that their family is “letting him go” in a post shared on Facebook.

“After several sleepless nights, lots of research, multiple conversations with the world's best neurologists & millions of prayers we are here in the face of our biggest fear,” Kallie began of her son.

Kallie suggested that after discussions with doctors, the family would be ending further medical intervention for her son, who she has indicated suffered a brain injury and since required constant hospitalization.

Levi died on Sunday, June 2, after he was removed from life support, family friend Mindy Sue Clark confirmed to PEOPLE. "Levi was the absolute best little boy. It's going to be tough navigating life without him," Clark said.
