The 38-year-old actress will join season 2 of Nobody Wants This as a guest star, PEOPLE has confirmed. The role will mark the latest time she and her real-life husband Adam Brody will share the screen, following 2023's River Wild and Brody's previous recurring role on her former ABC sitcom Single Parents.

The Gossip Girl alum will play Abby, the middle school nemesis of Bell's character Joanne who is now an "Instagram mommy influencer," per Variety.

The Netflix series released in September to rave reviews and was quickly renewed for a second season. Work began on the next installment right away, and filming is set to begin in March, per star Jackie Tohn.

It will pick up after the season 1 finale left off with Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody) at a crossroads in their relationship, as Joanne admitted she's hesitant to convert to Judaism, which is something of a nonnegotiable for Noah, who is keen to become head rabbi.

Still, the episode ended with the pair kissing, though what's next for them is unclear.

Meester joining the series is particularly fun given the red-hot chemistry between her husband and Bell onscreen — and their first kiss, which Brody, 45, told PEOPLE was described in the script as "something to the effect of, 'It's the greatest of all time.'"

It's not something that bothers the actress, as she told Access Hollywood she thinks their headline-making kiss in the series was "great" and she didn't "mind."

Brody also made sure to say that his wife, who he married in 2014, "taught" him all he knows. "She gets the good stuff. That's not even like the A-material," he teased.

Bell and Brody's chemistry also caught Bell's husband's attention. She told E! News that she thinks Joanne and Noah's chemistry is "hot" herself, and her husband Dax Shepard "said the same thing."

"Watching the first episode, he was like, 'Oh my God, I want you to kiss him so badly.'"

The response wasn't surprising to creator Erin Foster, though. "We knew that was gonna happen because we were on set watching them. We were like, 'Are they having an affair? This chemistry is insane,'" she told E! News of Bell, 44, and Brody. "Then the cameras turn off and they're like brother and sister."
