If we ran into Peter Scanavino on the subway, we would've needed someone to call us a bus. However, it seems not everyone fangirls over the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star the way we do.

In fact, during the 25th anniversary celebration of Law & Order: SVU, Scanavino exclusively told Parade his favorite fan encounter, which was actually quite jarring.

"The best one I ever had," Scanavino—who has played Dominick "Sonny" Carisi Jr. since 2014 on the Dick Wolf-created drama—started off, "I'm on the subway and this guy was kind of like, 'Hey, can I get a picture with you?'"

According to Scanavino, 43, he happily obliged and the selfie went on without a hitch. Yet, once one female passenger caught wind of the interaction, she too asked for a photo with the TV star.

After agreeing to the snap, the woman then bluntly remarked, "I don't even know who you are."

This left Scanavino feeling the need to explain his role on SVU, to which the woman replied, "I don't even like you."

Yet, as Scanavino gestured, the fellow subway rider took the selfie anyway. He quipped, "I was like, explaining to her who I was. You don't have to take a picture with me."

For the record, we would love to take a photo with Scanavino.

Thankfully, fans won't have to wait much longer to see Scanavino on the small screen again, as Law & Order: SVU returns for its 25th season on Thursday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. In addition to SVU, both the original Law & Order and the Christopher Meloni-led Law & Order: Organized Crime are also returning for new seasons on Thursday.
