Lara Trump, President’s Daughter-In-Law, To Host New Fox News Weekend Show

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump and former co-chair of the Republican National Committee, is joining Fox News to host a new weekend show.

Trump’s show, My View with Lara Trump, will air at 9 p.m. ET Saturdays starting February 22.

Lara Trump, who is the wife of Eric Trump, previously had been a paid contributor for Fox News but left in 2022 after Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign. She also has hosted a web series, The Right View, since 2020.

Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, said in a statement, “A gifted communicator who knows how to connect to the viewers, successful entrepreneur and working mother, Lara’s innate understanding of the American public and today’s political landscape will be a compelling addition to our weekend lineup.”

Trump’s new assignment is the latest example of a revolving door between the network and Trump’s team, albeit that has occurred in previous administrations as well. Pete Hegseth, the new secretary of defense, formerly was a co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend, a role for which he made about $4.6 million in the past two years, according to financial disclosure reports. Another Fox personality, Sean Duffy, also left the network to become the secretary of transportation. Tulsi Gabbard, whose nomination to be the next director of national intelligence cleared a key committee on Tuesday, was a contributor for the network.

During Joe Biden’s administration, Jen Psaki left her role as White House press secretary and became an MSNBC host. Symone Sanders joined the network after she was chief spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Lara Trump also is not the first presidential relative to get a hosting gig from a major network. Jenna Bush Hager, the daughter of George W. Bush, hosts the fourth hour of NBC’s Today, while Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, was a special correspondent for NBC. Hager and Clinton took those roles after their fathers left office.

My View with Lara Trump seems likely to present Trump’s presidency in a positive light. Fox News said that the show will “focus on the return of common sense to all corners of American life as the country ushers in a new era of practicality.” In her statement, Lara Trump borrowed a term from her father-in-law’s inaugural address, saying, “I’m thrilled to bring my voice back to Fox News, talk directly with the American people, and highlight what makes this country so great.  As I cover the success of The Golden Age of America, I look forward to where this time will lead our country and where this opportunity will lead me in the future.”

Her show will replace One Nation with Brian Kilmeade, which will be moved to Sunday at 10 p.m.
