Lady Gaga Sings ‘Dick in a Box’ With Andy Samberg Before Wild Lonely Island Medley at ‘SNL50’ Concert
Audiences watching the “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” were perhaps expecting Lady Gaga to sing one of her new singles for the long-anticipated occasion, or the musical kick-off for the 50th anniversary special airing on NBC on Sunday.
The reality was Bradley Cooper — wait, no — that was Andy Samberg in a wig and a cowboy hat singing with Gaga. The pair started with an almost-cover of Gaga and Cooper’s “Star Is Born” hit, “Shallow,” (“I gotta stop you, because it’s bad,” Gaga told Samberg) until it eventually detoured into “Dick in a Box.”

The comedic single became a staple of “Saturday Night Live” history thanks to The Lonely Island, featuring Justin Timberlake, who wasn’t on stage Friday night.
“Justin’s not here to do his parts!” Samberg exclaimed. Gaga responded, “Andy, Don’t be a bitch. I’ll do it with you.”
With Gaga on piano, the duo sang a dramatic rendition of “Dick in a Box” that turned into a blistering medley featuring everyone from T-Pain to Bad Bunny. Also joined by Chris Parnell, Jorma Taccone and Eddie Vedder, Samberg and crew free-styled through medley, even building on an instrumental of Kendrick Lamar’s “TV Off” (made complete with Parnell yelling “Mustard!”).
The star-studded “Homecoming Concert,” hosted by Jimmy Fallon, has a lineup that also features Post Malone, Mumford & Sons, Jack White, David Byrne, Robyn, Chris Martin, Cher, Dave Grohl, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Snoop Dogg, St. Vincent and Wyclef Jean, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Jelly Roll, the B-52s, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Roots.
