Lady Gaga Reveals Where She Stands On 'Raw Beef As Couture' These Days
Lady Gaga’s controversial meat dress is still as divisive as ever.
Even the star seemed to have a hard time parsing her feelings about the raw ensemble during a lie detector-assisted interview for Vanity Fair which came out Wednesday.
When presented with a photo of her 2010 MTV VMAs look during a segment covering her most memorable ensembles, Gaga appeared to brace herself before a question even came.
Pursing her lips as she was asked if she would ever “wear raw beef as couture” again, Gaga took a second to think before saying, “I don’t think so, no.”
Apparently unconvinced by her own answer, the “Monster” singer shot a glance at the polygraph technician to get a second opinion.
Told the results were “inconclusive,” the 14-time Grammy-winner seemed bewildered.
“Oh!” the singer said with wide eyes, before cracking a subtle smirk and adding, “Well, that was a surprise.”
While Gaga didn’t seem to be interested in reviving butcher shop couture any time soon, the look has been preserved for the sake of pop culture history.
The dress, which was crafted by fashion designer Franc Fernandez, was dehydrated into a beef jerky-like state and now resides in the Haus of Gaga museum in Las Vegas.
