Kylie Kelce is opening up about the importance of sports for young girls — and revealing her husband Jason Kelce's surprising hidden talent.

A former field hockey player at Temple University, Kylie, 31, told Glamour that her own love of football came from "watching football with my dad" growing up, and remembers it as "the most fun experience" to watch her father "cheer on" the Philadelphia Eagles. "It was the Sunday activity,” she shared.

Kylie recalled growing up "in the age of the Mia Hamm women's soccer team," and the iconic moment when "Brandi Chastain pulled her jersey over her head in celebration" after the U.S. National Women's Team won the World Cup in 1999 as some of the moments that inspired her love of sports.

"Those are the memories that have instilled in my brain in a positive way that I remember being like, Gosh, they are so cool."

Kylie explained, "I recognized that these women were in the public eye and very much doing it in a positive way and being applauded for their strength and skill and their finesse — all these things that now I try and make sure that my girls are putting emphasis on."

Now as the mother of three young daughters (she and Jason, 36, share Bennett, 11 months, Elliotte, 2, and Wyatt, 4), Kylie is excited about the NFL's newest fanbase: Swifties.

As her brother-in-law, Travis Kelce, continues his relationship with Taylor Swift, the singer's fanbase has quickly become a force in the NFL discourse this season, and Kylie, and Jason, have been pulled into the growing spotlight.

Speaking to Glamour, Kylie said it's "exciting" that football has the attention of the new demographic.

“To see that other young girls are getting involved and that they want to sit down and cheer with their dads or they’re finding their own reason to be interested, it’s only something that can be painted in a positive and exciting light. It’s just another way to encourage girls to appreciate sport," Kylie said.

She added, “I hope they draw the connection between sports and feeling good about themselves. That sports are an enjoyable and positive experience, and having those positive feelings then translates to making sure they continue with it.”

As her girls begin to discover their individual interests in sports — Wyatt recently went viral for her adorable impression of her dad's on-field moves — Kylie said she hopes they share their parents' passion for sports. "I do hope they become athletes, probably selfishly, but also because there are so many things involved in sport that translate into real life," Kylie said.

Just before Thanksgiving, Kylie hosted and coached a youth field hockey clinic in Kansas City, alongside her mother-in-law, Donna Kelce.

In her Glamour interview, Kylie shared the new piece of advice she gives to her players. "I tell my high school field hockey girls now that whether they go on to play in college, whether they play just for fun or whether they don’t pick up a stick after high school ever again, the tools that they’re learning, being on a team, working toward a common goal, and doing it together is something that will translate into the workplace. It will translate into life as a whole."

Kylie also said she and Jason "are advocates for the arts and would enjoy it if [their daughters] get involved in that as well."

And the girls may have some musical talent in their genes. Kylie revealed during her interview that Jason "was a competition jazz band member" before he played professional football.

"He was a well-rounded guy. Not a lot of people know that, but he played the baritone saxophone, so if they want to get into music and art, we will fully encourage that as well. We’ll try everything just to see what sticks."

Jason's musical talents may not be such a surprise to Eagles fans, however. The NFL star has hinted as his musical past with his two Eagles Christmas albums.

Along with his teammates Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson, Jason lends his vocals to the fan-favorite releases. Last year's album, A Philly Special Christmas Special, included a duet between Jason and Travis.
