Kylie Jenner's controversial cameo in X-rated clip slammed
Kylie Jenner made a surprise appearance in Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallionâs new video clip for WAP - but the X-rated cameo has left fans fuming.
Initially fans praised the rap artists for spotlighting Black and Brown women, but it didnât take long for a petition to surface on Change.org calling for Kylie Jenner to be removed from the clip due to cultural appropriation.
The video includes cameos from a host famous guests including Normani, RosalĂa, Mulatto, Sukihana, Rubi Rose and Kylie Jenner, who makes a dramatic 20-second appearance at the 1:40m mark walking down a hallway in leopard print.
âThe video was perfect until we saw K and I wanted to throw my phone,â the petition creators explained.
And another fan agreed, commenting: âI was happily enjoying my daily cup of Brown women until that culture stealing colonizer showed up and made me spill.â
âShe is a culture vulture who doesnât remember how her own complexion looks! Down with the culture vultures,â was another angry comment.
While one person wrote on Twitter: âOut here walking down the hallways looking for something cultural to highjack.â
Cardi B did take to Twitter to say it was important for her to include women of âdifferent racesâ and âdifferent backgroundsâ in the clip.
âI wanna say thank you to every woman that was a part of my video,â she wrote. âThe fact that you made time in your schedules means a lot to me! It was so important to me to include different women that are different races and come from different backgrounds, but are so powerful and influential.â
The racy clip itself had already stirred up quite the reaction with plenty of people dubbing it NSFW [Not Safe For Work].
âDisgusts me how they portray themselves. These people are not role models, they need Jesus,â was one comment on social media.
âCardi B teaching her daughter how to be like her,â another person wrote before adding the words âprostituteâ and âstripperâ.
Even Carole Baskin blasted the rapperâs over their new music video - that has more than just Kylie dressed in animal print, with photoshopped leopards and white tigers roaming freely.
Although the big cats were photoshopped in, animal rights activist Carole is worried it will âglamorise the idea of rich people having tigers as petsâ.
âThat makes every ignorant follower want to imitate by doing the same,â she told Metro.co.uk in a statement.
